Year 2023

I haven't written on this blog in three years, or more precisely two years and four months. I would have written you a letter but life got the best of me, I would have mailed you a note but the paper had no ink, there are many reasons for this. I've been busy gripping my anchor in the ocean of life, and occasionally I've drowned, been carried away by the sea, or just vanished.

But as we enter the Fresh Year, don't fall back into your old self; instead, have a new brew of the new YOU, even if it's the same old clothing, car, or accessories, but allow the new YOU be visible in all.

But I've realized that no matter how many times I try to do it myself, I always fail, but my anchor is always there to help and keep my head above water. I have realised that the line is extremely thin and the coin so easily flips.

It feels nice to be back doing my stuff; life has taught me and sharpened me; I have learned and unlearned; and I am continuing to construct and walk through life with my anchor.

So, let me publicly greet three New Years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I'm delighted we all made it to this year; there's a lot to unpack.

I don't want to make any promises, but I know I'm back for good, and there's a lot of work to be done, things to share, and information to be shared. But first, let me give you a quick rundown of my life during the last three years.

I completed my one-year compulsory National Youth Corps (NYSC), Nigeria; which I think the purpose of it has been defeated; I served my father's land in Ibadan, Nigeria's southwest, having initially camped in Yobe, which had a mix of a bitter-sweet experience, where I met talented individuals (yet, 20 children cannot walk together for 20 years.) with whom I am still in contact and harsh weather that dealt mercilessly with me. I  was able to deploy back to the South-West and successfully served in a school where I had the opportunity to impact knowledge in the lives of  young naive students and the school as a whole.

Then life started settling in and it began with job hunting which became a significant concern for me. Fortunately, I landed a job where I can strengthen my writing talents and have a platform to enlighten the rest of the world.

Then Lagos traffic showed me 'shege' in pro max, and it's still showing 'shege', and this is something I'll never be able to accept or adjust to, coming from someone who gets motion sickness every time she's on the road.

The juicy part is that I found love, well, not defined, and we served each other brunch rather than breakfast (lol), painful, but I will continue to press forward in faith till I find genuine love in wonderland, because my love life is a hodgepodge, but that is not the topic of conversation.

My faith grew, and as I was tried and tempted, but I overcame them all through Christ Jesus.. (can someone say hallelujah?)  hallelujahh!!!!! πŸ˜‚.... But I will kill flesh until I am crucified and I become the full work of Christ.

It feels great to be back, writing and sharing everything I know, and exchanging information.

"Spend each day attempting to be a bit wiser than you were when you woke up," Charlie Munger said. Perform your responsibilities faithfully and well. Systematically, you advance, but not always in quick bursts."

Take a simple idea, and take it seriously,” Charlies Muger said.

Welcome to Year 2023!!!!!!

Here’s to the next chapter. πŸ₯‚ Dusting the cobwebs off this blogπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒ For as long as I can remember, I knew I would write, but whenever I think about writing on this special day, my heart skips a beat. This past year, I circled the sun, With changes I had not foreseen. I faced the depths, the heights, the core— Tears flowed freely, joy took flight, Sorrow and laughter both took light. I leapt forward in the fog's embrace, With no clear map, I found my place. Though shadows lingered, steps unsure, I'm grateful now, I stand secure.   I leaned on love, my anchor strong, My father's bond is where I belong. My family held me, firm and true, Their love, my guide, through skies so blue.   Enimoney, my forever woman, beside me, stayed, Through darkest nights, we never swayed. In growth and love, we've far surpassed, A bond so deep, forever to last. And to my "forever wanna be Gen Z, " You led me and kept me on my beam. Best girls and mentors, near and true...

Monday Rush

I'm sure I'm not the only one who detests Mondays, the start of a long work week with no breather in between, especially when there is no public holiday in between the week. The sensation that it's MONDAY AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! How can I work for 5 days and rest for only 2 days, officially 1 day, God helps you, you have that day to yourself without anyone or anything to carry you out. The hurried rush on Mondays is the absolute opposite of a peaceful Sunday morning, and the contrast might be startling if you're still jet-lagged from the weekend. Monday, the second day of the week, but technically, the first day of the week, has this rugged nature. Traffic is always worse, the waits at bus stops are longer, everyone is rushing somewhere, and the entire mood appears panic-stricken. The sheer number of 'to-dos' and backlogs can be daunting, which is why Mondays can be more stressful than your typical work day, with hectic meetings packed in between from project catch-ups...

Missing the Big Picture

Lost in the details, the small and the near, I peer through the fog, but the path isn't clear. Blind to the vistas that stretch far and wide, I stumble along, with a narrow-eyed stride. The world is a puzzle, a maze to be solved, But I'm lost in the pieces, the details involved. I scrutinize every aspect, each fine-grained part, But miss the grand picture, the essence of art. Myopic and blinkered, I'm stuck in my view, My vision constrained, my perspective askew. The broader horizon eludes my small mind, As I fuss and I fret over things undefined. Oh, to see the big picture, the grand and the vast, To marvel at wonders too great to be grasped! To transcend the minutiae, the petty and small, And glimpse the whole landscape, the grandeur of all. But until then, I'll keep plodding along, Bent on the small things, the details so strong. I'll dream of the vistas I've yet to behold, And hope for the day when my eyes will unfold. Sometimes we get lost in the details, F...
